  1. Susie Zimmer Says:

I think that it is fantastic that this is being held at The Clevelan Baseball Hertitage Museum!!!

  2. I can’t wait to see you in Mentor. I just finished your book so I could mail it to a friend in Minneapolis who also grew up with the Buzzard. WMMS was an institution!! You weren’t cool if you weren’t tuned to ‘MMS. So many memories. And the concerts, we went to so many. I’ll never forget the time we went to the Who concert on a school night and I couldn’t get up for school the next morning. My father was the editor of a local news paper and had (still does) a column on Sundays called “Editors Notebook” he wrote a column about me and mentioned how I attended concerts on school nights and missed school the next day. That column is legendary among my friends….and the principal at South High.
I had one girlfriend who called in for every givaway you had. She won many of them too. She taught me how to use redail.
I felt like I was reading about old friends. And learned much about the radio business as well. Thank you!

  8. Andrew in Columbus Says:

John- There are a lot of Cleveland transplants living in the Columbus area (including myself). We grew up listening to the Buzzard and your book is the spark that is bringing back some wonderful memories for this 30 and 40 something crowd. Any chance of driving a few hours down 71 for an afternoon or evening in Cbus?

  9. Kim Fatica Says:

I am anxious to get hold of your book to read it, John. I eventually worked in the presence of the Cleveland greats I grew up listening to, including Mike Olszewski, Len “The Boom” Goldberg, “Kid” Leo, and Ed “Flash” Ferenc. The Buzzard definitely defined our lives at South High in Willoughby in the 70s and we were always so proud to know how much WMMS was a reflection of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

I miss my hometown now that I’m living in Tampa, but hope to get a copy of the book soon. That nut, Olszewski, will make sure I get it.

Thanks for building the base of Cleveland rock history and congratulations on the release of what I am sure is a great book.

  10. Hi John,
Iam in the middle of the book now and it is great! I love radio and the behind the scenes stuff is great. I loved listening to the buzzard back in the day! Radio now sucks, its all corporate. However Kinzbach is on WNCX now as a fill in,it’s great to hear him again.
